Daisy: We are back with some more critter news this week.

Daisy: So, Peanut, what is the news for this week......

Peanut: YES.....

Daisy: Uhhhhh.....

Peanut: YES.....

Daisy: IS THAT ALL???

Peanut: YES.....

Daisy: ARGHHHHHHH!!! >faints<

Peanut: Okay, Okay..... SORRY.....We have the news today..... Uh...(flips through paper..) Oh, here we are.....
This Valentine's Day, we are going to have some special critter valentine's day contest telling us a pet or animal or person or some person in your life you love! Other news includes someone's birthday is coming up soon......

Daisy: Oh.....Hi, Peanut.....Where am I?

Peanut: Daisy, I CAN'T hear you! Speak louder!

Daisy: I am....

Peanut: (sighs) ANYWAY.... I am sure you were wondering about YOURS TRULY these past weeks.

Daisy: I was?

Peanut: I am talking about our AUDIENCE, you ridiculous rabbit!

Daisy: Hey, do you know that is a serious insult to rabbit kind?

Peanut: Yes.

Daisy: But, b-b-but - I.....(splutter) HOW DARE YOU!

Peanut: Back to the news. YOURS TRULY....The great Peanut.......is perfectly fine. Although I did have a small injury a while ago, my eye is perfectly great!

Daisy: (sighs)

Peanut: Daisy, your turn! You are in charge of the comments we get often. Why don't you give out some special shout-outs to those "commenters" out there!

Daisy: (pushes button on printer, paper spurts out) ALRIGHT... lets see..... Okay, good.

Peanut: What?

Daisy: None of your earwax!

Peanut: FYI, "For your info", It's beeswax, not EARWAX!

Daisy: Oh, uh, right.... "None of your beeswax.." What does that have to do with ANYTHING???

Peanut: I dunno. I don't make up any of those pointless sayings.

Daisy: ANYWAY.....Here are the comments of this past week:

On the "Ask Us" page, we saw this comment....

"I have never owned a pet but I am thinking about getting one. What do you suggest as a first pet?"
We replied to "Anonymous's" question, along with many other's question.

A suggestion someone called "Cat lover girl" told us was an idea to make a cat hammock like the hamster hammock on the "Crafty Critters" section. Thanks, Cat lover girl!

A nice girl named Jenna commented on the "Contests and Events" section, wishing Daisy a Happy Birthd-

HEY! She commented for my birthday? I didn't think anyone cared about my birthday! Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH, Jenna!

Another person also commented for my birthday, saying they had a rabbit too!

Peanut: And a VERY special announcement is that Daisy is now old enough to have her own profile!

Daisy: Maybe even my own blog??

Peanut: Maybe, but for now... Let's just focus on a small section of Critter Corner! Go ahead and check it out!

Daisy: Oh boy! I will!

Peanut: This is your blog, you big silly!

Daisy: Oh.

Comments:

"My hamster cannot go without his treat of PURINA Gourmet Bites!"

"I would be a sworn enemy if I took away my ferret's Ferret Nation hammock.....They LOVE 'em!"

"Nature's Miracle Stain and Odor Remover. I use it on the cage, the litter boxes, even the floors! I love how it is safe for the pets.....Now that's a Miracle!"

"I have a spunky lil' chinchilla named Chester. He loves Oxbow Hay Hideaway and he also enjoys 'Yogies!' treats."

"Although our family's bunny passed away, he did love SuperPet Products. Especially his litter-box and sleeping bed!"

"One of the best cage/carrier I ever got for my hamster was the BioBubble. It was an ideal portable container that provided everything my son's hamster needed. Best of all, it could be used for my daughter's science fair project when we got rid of it."

"I feed my ferret Sunshine Factor vita-supplements that help his coat shiny and his insides running smoothly. Good for me, and my little buddy!"

"I love Cute Overload Calendar! So cute and unique!"

"The BEST bedding ever is Green Dreamzzz! My chinchilla loves to sleep in this soft bedding that is 100% natural and leaves no dust or debris. I LOVE it just as much as my pets do.......It works for rabbits, hamsters, and other pets too!"

Twice is Nice

Today, we went to two people's houses. One, the owner of the puppy, and another, who has two bunnies.

I held her puppy, who stayed still long enough for a quick picture!

Holly loves to chase toys!

This bunny is so big, he is also very fast!

"Who you lookin' at?"

"I told you not to bother me!"

Surprisingly enough, this bunny is older than the other one.

I can tell he is a Flemish Giant or Checkered Giant mixed breed.

"OH great, there you are AGAIN!!!!"

"Oh, all RIGHT, if you insist..... You can take a picture......"  Although he looked pretty angry at first, this bunny could tell I love animals and
he warmed up to me quickly.

Ferret Love

This Valentine's Day, have fun with your pet ferret and give him some special love.

I hope you noticed the background change for Valentine's Day,(which will be changed today due to Daisy's upcoming birthday!!) and it reminded me of the holiday(if that's what you could call it?!?) that is also coming up soon. Your pet ferret should be important to you already, but this Valentine's Day, make him extra special. Here are some cool ideas to make him feel "loved!"

  • Ferrets can eat(although the cats and dogs don't enjoy it) cat and dog food. Of course, don't do this. Instead, get a "dog cookie" shaped like a heart--or a dog biscuit or chew toy.
  • Buy him a brand new toy like a Frisbee or a ferret chew toy. Ferrets love tunnels--you don't even have to buy something for him, you can just get some big tubes or pipes like PVC tubes. They love it!
  • Cuddle your ferret like usual, but MORE often. Some ferrets like cuddling, but some would rather run around and play. Play with him more often too.
  • Rearrange his cage to make it more interesting.
  • Give him red and pink tissue paper to hide in.
  • Play some games such as "Find the Kibble," or even "Find the Ferret!"
  • Take a cute picture of him with Valentine's Day-related props.

"Super Pet" Holiday Challenge: Is your pet up to the challenge? Whether you have a dog or a hamster, create a cute mailbox with valentines, treats, and a few pet toys. At dollar stores, you can buy some cheap but cute mailboxes that are big enough to fit these things in. I hope you take the "Super Pet" Holiday Challenge!

Pictures

You can already see part of her eye underneath, so I know she will be Ok.

A normal eye and an injured eye. Her right eye is injured.

Peanut is feeling better already!!!

A Sight for Sore Eyes

Peanut had a little unknown injury yesterday. I went to clean her cage and she woke up and I saw that one of her eyes was swollen. Basically, she had a black eye.The eye itself is not injured, but the eyelid is a little puffy and pink. Like humans, if it truly is a "black eye", it will heal up in no time. The worst case scenario is if it actually drew blood, and there will be an infection. If that is the case, I will have to specially treat it best as I can, and there will be a scar, giving her a slight "winking" look that will be permanent. Hamster injuries can not really be helped, since they are so small!! (I will upload pictures once I fix the computer of all technical difficulties.)(Note: People who are terrified of rodents, and are squeamish will probably not care for these pictures. Okay, not to be rude, but I honestly have no sympathy. I LOVE Critters!)

It Arrived!

My magazine came!

The magazine has some pretty great articles about all sorts of critters, from hamsters to skunks! Like I said, the magazine is yearly, so it is really thick---thicker than usual magazines. I LOVE SmallAnimalChannel, and it has DogChannel and CatChannel websites too! I know I keep talking about it, but I am absolutely crazy about the website! The articles include, "Clean Hamster, Happy Hamster," "Arthritis in Critters," and "Ferret Habitats" to name just a few! Plus, there are some challenging Sudoku and maze puzzles that all ages will enjoy!
